WORKSHOP SERIES FROM MARCH!

We’re off and running! We had a successful first Pop-Up on March 6! It was a little cold, and a little rainy, but we still had big fun!
The afternoon started at KULA URBAN FARM where Junk Artist, Lisa Bagwell was creating SNEAKY SNAKES made out of recycled bottle caps. The teens created a snake sculpture out of by poking holes and stringing up the caps onto wire to make a fun snake to guard your front door or to gift to someone.
At OVER THE MOON ART STUDIOS teens could Design their own TAROT CARD through drawing, painting, & collage as well as create a MANDALA using meditative patterns and circular compositions.
Next Stop: REBEL SUPPLY CO.! For a NO-SEW UPCYCLING: GIVING NEW LIFE TO OLD T-SHIRTS. In this workshop we Upcycled gently worn T-shirts using various cutting and knot-tying techniques. It was so much fun turning T-shirts into bags, tank tops, crop tops and giving new life to those old tired t-shirts with Lauren from Asbury Alterations!
Over at KONSCIOUS COMMUNITY CENTER Strange Rainbow presented: PLAYING WITH FAILURE This was in interactive drawing workshop. Through a series of exercises, participants intentionally disrupt their ability to fully control the outcome of their drawings.
At the ASBURY BOOK COOPERATIVE folks enjoyed the BOOKISH COLLAGE WORKSHOP where they built a collage from found literature, poetry, prose, and photography selected from the Used Book Nook. The participants created beautiful collages from the pages of the dollar bin books often overlooked.
Onward to AWKWARD CREATIVITY: CELEBRATING FAMILY THROUGH MUSIC & ART at PARLOR GALLERY. Students and families were invited to explore the love and connection between children and their parents through music, art, and storytelling. Participants heard personal stories and learned how emotions can be expressed through multiple forms of art.
