Arts High is a special release-time program for gifted and talented students, grades 6-12. Students interested in joining the program must audition to participate. Arts High is administered by Teen Arts New Jersey, formerly known as the Arts & Education Center which has been operating the program in Middlesex County since 1980. The program was expanded to include Monmouth County in 2004.

Arts High (grades 9-12) classes are held from January to May, with students scheduled to attend one afternoon per week for a fourteen-week term. Arts High (grades 6-8) students attend for a twelve-week term. In cooperation with sending school districts, the program seeks and identifies talented students who will have the opportunity to audition in the art form of their choice.  Auditions, open to all registered students, will be held in December. Student acceptance into the Arts High program is dependent on their school’s approval of their participation in the program.
