It was a beautiful day to bop around Asbury!
We are excited to announce, we now have a shuttle bus! Our stops include: Kula Urban Farm, Over the Moon Art Studios, Konscious Community Center, The Boardwalk, and Parlor Gallery.
Look for the shuttle, to help you get around next month!
At KULA URBAN FARM Samantha Treadwell led a CARDBOARD PORTRAITS Workshop! Participants learned how to create depth, texture, and bold features while turning simple recycled materials into portraits. Everyone had fun tapping into their creativity, experimentation, and bringing their cardboard creations to life.
At KONSCIOUS COMMUNITY CENTER teens participated in SANKOFA THEATER. This was an interactive, performance-based workshop designed to guide participants in exploring identity, ancestry, and self-expression through theater, movement, sound, and storytelling.
On Cookman Avenue, ASBURY BOOK COOPERATIVE hosted a TEEN POETRY REVISION where kids could work on poems and get advice from professional poets and published authors.
At PARLOR GALLERY, SHORE THING THEATER taught TEEN IMPROV, as they played games and unleashed creativity, enhanced their speaking skills to unlock their confidence, improved collaboration and communication, focus and listening skills.
OVER THE MOON ART STUDIOS hosted a PAINT YOUR ZODIAC SIGN workshop with Meagan Greenberg. Teens brought their cosmic vibes to channel the energy of their zodiac sign into art! It was a guided painting workshop where participants created a unique piece inspired by their zodiac signs.
This month we had ART629 Gallery joined in on the fun. Brittany hosted her popular FIGURE DRAWING class. Students learned to do gesture drawing, shading, and
proportions of the human figure from a live model. The model started off with one-minute poses. The participants needed to really focus on the pose and quickly get the initial pose down as quickly as they could!
Join us in May for more cool art workshops! We’ll be adding two more locations – THE ART SPOT and the ASBURY PARK ART CLUB located on OCEAN AVENUE on THE BOARDWALK.
